Youth Summer Program
June & July

Special Needs youth ages 13 & up


Monday-Thursday 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.

Strength and Cardio training with Jane Chastain, Certified Personal Trainer. Tuesday and Thursday will include spin classes at no additional charges. Cost : $20.00 per day.

Tuesday & Thursday 4:45 - 5:30 p.m.

Spin classes for youth with special needs conducted by Ashley Steele, Certified Spin Instructor. Classes limited to 6 participants.
Cost: $10.00 per class.

Youth must be at least 13 years old and able to follow instructions and be physically able to participate.

Must wear sneakers and bring or purchase a bottle of water.

WHAT IS A SPIN CLASS?

Spinning is an aerobic exercise that takes place on a specially designed stationary bicycle called a spinning bike. As you pedal, motivating music plays and the instructor talks you through a visualization of an outdoor cycling such as "You're going up a long hill now, you can't see the top yet.…" During the class participants vary their pace --sometimes pedaling as fast as they can, other times cranking up the tension and pedaling slowly. This helps them to focus to work their mind as well as their body. Spin is a fun cardio work out that encourages group participation.



Strength & Cardio Training

Special needs youth and adults

One on one strength and cardio training with a Certified Personal Trainer that specializes exclusively in special needs.

Sessions are for ages 12 and older and are conducted one on and in small groups - according to the individual's abilities and strengths.

Benefits include:

  • Stronger muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments!
  • More muscle, less fat
  • Higher matabolism, more calories burned
  • Increases balance, decreases daily injury risk
  • Reduces stress
  • Better awareness of food choices
  • Greater self confidence and physical capacity!
